Can I Get a Masters Without a Bachelor's

  1. Hey everyone I but had a thought well I was reading thru the forum. I've heard some schools will allow a student to piece of work on and accomplish a masters degree without always completing a bachelors. I'm certain some of you take heard this as well.

My question has anybody(or know anyone) always received a masters w/o a bachelors?

Any schools y'all know of that offer this option?

  2. Heriot-Watt University'south Edinburgh School of Business (United kingdom) offers a altitude learning MBA and a number of business related Master of Science degrees that may exist completed without an undergraduate degree (in this case, i must consummate a Post-graduate document to be fully matriculated into the degree program). See FAQ department for more details.

EBS is a well regarded, internationally known school of concern. Heriot-Watt (the parent university) holds a Royal Charter, which is the equivalent of accreditation in the US. Bear in mind that this is not an "online" program. Rather, information technology is altitude learning. All work is done via correspondence. Essentially, you sign up for a course, receive the materials, study as much equally you tin can and so take the exam(s) at one of hundreds of exam centers located throughout the world.

It is more than common for schools outside of the Us to acknowledge a educatee to a postal service-graduate program without an undergraduate degree. I would recommend that you post more information regarding the subject area that yous are looking to study. This will help us to make specific recommendations.

    Best of luck,

  3. You lot can earn primary's credit at Harvard (College of Continuing Instruction) without a caste in anything, nonetheless, in order to apply to use those credits toward a degree, you need to finish the bachelor's. A benefit of doing this, is that y'all *may* exist able to and so take your graduate credit and double dip it by using it IN your bachelor'southward programme.
  4. Athabasca in Canada offers two alternate paths towards earning an MBA without a bachelors, simply you lot'll demand a lot of work experience ... instead of a bachelor's they will also have:

an accustomed professional designation [ex, CMA, PEng, etc] and at least v years of managerial experience
    or
a minimum of 8 to 10 years of substantial managerial feel

  5. My mother in law has an MBA from the University of the Due west Indies, and does not have a Bachelor's caste. She had to satisfy certain prerequisites first, though.
  6. A petty known (and even less advertised) exception to requiring an undergrad degree is seminaries. ATS allows seminaries to admit up to ten% of applicants without an undergrad degree and fifty-fifty with no undergraduate work at all. That beingness said the applicant has to be outstanding in all other ways.
  7. Which subject do y'all desire your masters to exist concentrated in? Ex, education, business, It, law, theology, etc ... that volition probable assistance direct responses and narrow down your options. Some disciplines are probably easier entry than others ... ex, if you are hoping to get your MSW without a bachelors, you'll probably have a tough time finding one that will admit you lot.
  8. Oh! I just thought of another thought. Are you interested in becoming a nurse practitioner? When I was researching alternate paths, I institute a half dozen schools that had accelerated programs in which y'all did the undergrad and grad combined- at warp speed. In other words, you could begin without any college credit and you'd graduate with an MSN in ~three or 4 years.
  9. Wow! I wasn't expecting this many people to answer because I actually didn't believe this was an option. But at present that I see that it is I might as well run across if anyone can help me out. I have about l credits(by and large gratuitous electives and social sciences humanities). I could never stick with B&M college considering the whole idea of majoring in a topic and simply taking nearly xxx credits of that actual subject area didn't make sense to me and aggravated me.

My involvement since I was a teenager as e'er been psychology. The criminal aspect of what makes killers kill, etc. If I could fast foward my pedagogy by getting a masters mayhap so I could work into a phd/psyd.

Also I should add the program should exist RA, because I plan to employ said caste to go a professional job, not really a bank check-the-box situation.

  10. Which schools have these programs?
  11. Yeah, what he said!
  12. This is truthful, yet, in one case you apply credit to whatsoever program at Harvard and yous cease that program, the credits are considered airtight and unable to be applied to whatever other program.

So if you employ your graduate credit to an undergraduate program, you will non become to apply it to whatever future graduate program. At least, that's how it works at the Extension. They also don't allow you to pursue 2nd bachelors if yous accept one already or degrees considered like to ones y'all already accept at the masters level.

Of course, don't ask, don't tell in that case.

  13. Yes, this is true at HArvard, which is why I said "may" be able to double dip. It depends on a few situations and equally always, the school.
  14. Possibly I misspoke, I idea Cincinnati, Vanderbilt, and Yale came to mind- just upon checking I don't think so. I call back I got this mixed upwardly with the accelerated paths for non-nursing degree holders. And then, ignore my annotate. Carry on lol. :headache:
  15. Monash Academy (AUS):

Main of Business organization Management (MBM)
    Master of Business Direction

  16. A piffling bumpity bump bump.

Equally suggested and possibly not clearly stated thru my terminal mail service I will endeavour to narrow down what I am searching for.

Could anyone point me toward a masters degree program [in any discipline of psychology] that doesnt crave you lot possess a bachelors degree?

From a US school with RA, my goal is to utilize it to become into a phd/psyd program in psychology.

  17. I believe the answer is "no."

  18. You have l credits in your subject, and then you likely need simply a handful upper level in your major and your gen eds. You lot can CLEP your gen eds, and so the fashion I see it, you're 1 motivated semester away from graduation. Doing and so makes y'all're options/choices endless...Peculiarly since you want to work in the field. You're going to have to earn your undergrad offset.

I think you should consider a BA in Social Science from TESC. That's what I did, and you're classes would be a proficient fit. I started from 0 credits and it only took me 18 months. (uhm, a highly MOTIVATED 18 months)

  19. Sound advice melt, I just figured if I could fast foward my educational activity that'd be super duper but equally you said I am not far from finishing so..

One question why would you lot suggest a ba in social scientific discipline rather than psych? Ive idea of this too but I don't know much almost that degree plan.

Cook, would you exist willing to share your caste plan with me for your BA in social science? In 18 months I assume you tested out of a very large majority of your classes then if you could share your caste programme that would be great!! If so I will pm you my email accost if you similar.

    Thanks anybody
